GPWe’re enjoying a busy spell here at Gorilla Post with a mixture of animations and TV projects under way.

Sound mixing on the animated series “Inis Spraoi” (Magpie6Media / Monster Entertainment)  is at full tilt with both English and Irish language versions being mixed on all 26 episodes.

Voice records on our other animated series, “Puffin Rock” is progressing brilliantly with Chris O’Dowd doing a super job. We’ll be starting the sound and video post production in June. We can’t wait!

Sound and video post is also underway on Kavaleer’s “Deadly” animated short film. We had the great pleasure of recording Brenda Fricker last year as the lead voice. As you can imagine she was fantastic, and beyond lovely to work with! The other lead voice is Peter Coonan, who plays Fran in RTE’s “Love/Hate”. He was quite scary to record! We really like this film. It’s funny, touching and very sweet. Hope you all get to see it soon!

On the documentary front, Goldhawk Productions have recently expanded their offices from the UK to Ireland and we’re delighted to have taken on their 1st Irish TV series! “Cork Mega Port” is a 4 part observational documentary series for TV3 that we’re currently mixing and grading. Paul Cleary is the producer / director. Welcome to Ireland, Paul!

If you’re a fan of Mario Rosenstock the good news is that he’s bringing his “Gift Grub Live” tour on the road again soon! As I write this, post production on a variety of his sketches is underway in our studios and edit suites. The sketches will be played via giant screens on stage during Mario’s performances, interacting with his alter ego’s in the process! This is a great one to be working on. Thanks to director Damian Farrell of Caboom and of course to the man himself, Mario!

Catch you all again soon!

All the best,

Barry

Post production began in April 2013 with Gorilla carrying out the sound mix, grade and online editing

The 4 x 40′ series was directed by Judy Kelly and produced by Anna Rogers. Executive Producer was Conor Moloney. It was broadcast on RTE One.
