Gorilla is relocating to Merrion Square with a relaunch set for October 2014!

Our new expansion will consist of multi-purpose edit suites and significant upgrades to our mixing studios and grading suites.

In the meantime our ongoing projects will be fully serviced at our current offices on Herbert Lane without disruption.

Needless to say we’re all very excited about the new move. Looking forward to seeing you all there very soon!

Recent news…

GPWe’re enjoying a busy spell here at Gorilla Post with a mixture of animations and TV projects under way.

Sound mixing on the animated series “Inis Spraoi” (Magpie6Media / Monster Entertainment)  is at full tilt with both English and Irish language versions being mixed on all 26 episodes.

Voice records on our other animated series, “Puffin Rock” is progressing brilliantly with Chris O’Dowd doing a super job. We’ll be starting the sound and video post production in June. We can’t wait!

Sound and video post is also underway on Kavaleer’s “Deadly” animated short film. We had the great pleasure of recording Brenda Fricker last year as the lead voice. As you can imagine she was fantastic, and beyond lovely to work with! The other lead voice is Peter Coonan, who plays Fran in RTE’s “Love/Hate”. He was quite scary to record! We really like this film. It’s funny, touching and very sweet. Hope you all get to see it soon!

On the documentary front, Goldhawk Productions have recently expanded their offices from the UK to Ireland and we’re delighted to have taken on their 1st Irish TV series! “Cork Mega Port” is a 4 part observational documentary series for TV3 that we’re currently mixing and grading. Paul Cleary is the producer / director. Welcome to Ireland, Paul!

If you’re a fan of Mario Rosenstock the good news is that he’s bringing his “Gift Grub Live” tour on the road again soon! As I write this, post production on a variety of his sketches is underway in our studios and edit suites. The sketches will be played via giant screens on stage during Mario’s performances, interacting with his alter ego’s in the process! This is a great one to be working on. Thanks to director Damian Farrell of Caboom and of course to the man himself, Mario!

Catch you all again soon!

All the best,

Barry

Release the beast! – AVID S6

avid-s6Good news on many levels as it’s been a while since the release of the last Pro Tools console. The S6 is modular which means that users can build their own system based on their personal requirements and budget. This is also the first major “Pro Tools” console that is open-ended to other applications such as Logic and Nuendo. Sure to please many!
