A mixture of interviews and recontructions, the series was filmed in old buildings that were once Ireland’s psychiatric units and unfolds the shocking stories of many ill-treated patients who were admitted to the hospitals since the 1800’s right up until modern times.
“Morning Ireland” presenter Aine Lawlor provided voice over for the series as well as Ger Ryan who voiced the reconstructions.
The 1st programme of “Behind the Walls” is on at 9.30pm September 8th on RTE 1.
